OUR HISTORY
The Third Eye Foundation is a non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of underprivileged children and women from different villages in Nepal. Our organization is driven by a deep commitment to uplift the most vulnerable members of our community and provide them with opportunities for a better future.
The establishment of the Third Eye Foundation was fueled by a series of poignant events, personal experiences, and a deep-rooted desire to address the pressing needs of the underprivileged in Baseri, Dhading. The journey began with a profound realization of the challenges faced by children in accessing education and the critical need for women’s empowerment in the community.
One influential figure in this founding story is Ganesh Neupane, the visionary behind the Third Eye Foundation. Ganesh, an innate of Dhading district, grew up in a middle-class family. He experienced firsthand the difficulties and sacrifices required to obtain the education. Every day, he used to embark on a two-hour journey, walking timelessly from his home in Baseri to the school and back, just to attend school. This tough journey became symbolic of the barriers many children in Dhading faced in pursuing their education.
During Ganesh’s trekking expedition, he realised the tough times he had when he was young. The harsh realities that he witnessed in the village area motivated him to take an immediate action towards remote communities in Dhading. The shabby condition of schools, and the lack of the educational resources left a lasting impact on him. He was deeply moved by the uninviting situation that prevailed, which reflected a stark truth about the state of education in Nepal. It was then the Ganesh’s determination to make a difference was sparked.
With his determination, and also with the help of his team at Third Eye Adventure, a trekking company, Ganesh’s dream of serving the society where his childhood passed gradually took shape. The proximity to the trekking fields made him extremely aware of the potential for leveraging resources and expertise to address the educational and socio-economic disparities in Baseri. So, he believed that establishing a social organization would provide a platform to channel his passion and created lasting change.
With the experiences and observation as guiding forces, Ganesh established the Third Eye Foundation. It became a platform to address the educational deficiencies, advocated the gender equality, and uplift the marginalized communities in Baseri, Dhading.
The Third Eye Foundation stands as an indication of the enduring power of compassion, empathy, and the unwavering belief that every child deserves a change in a better future. Through its program and initiative, it aims to break down barriers, empower women, and create a more equitable and inclusive society in Baseri, Dhading.
